Daffodils

Daffodils

Today as I write this I am sitting in the New Moon in Aries and 7 planets sitting in Aries too which has been making me think more of how am I evolving, growing, expanding in this beautiful Spring time energy? I LOVE this time of year with the birds singing and plants/trees are all coming back to life…. One of my favorites is Daffodils. They come in yellows, whites, pinks, oranges—single and bicolor—big cups and small.AND they come up every year which you can divide and spread across your property. Lets learn more…

Daffodils: The Flirtatious Flower of Death, Rebirth & Delicious Delusion

Ahhh, the daffodil. That bright, unapologetic little tease that pops up just when you think you’ve emotionally survived winter… and then BAM—here comes a golden trumpet screaming “Feel something again!”

But don’t let its sunny face fool you. This flower has layers—myth, magic, and just a hint of danger. Very on brand.

The Myth: Beauty That Brought a Man to His Knees

The daffodil is forever tied to the tragic Greek myth of Narcissus—yes, that Narcissus. The one who fell so deeply in love with his own reflection that he forgot to eat, sleep, or, you know… live.

Eventually, he wasted away beside a pool of water, completely consumed by illusion. And from that very spot? A daffodil bloomed.

So what’s the lesson here, babe? Obsession—whether with yourself, someone else, or an outdated version of your life—can be seductive… but it can also be your slow undoing.

Daffodils don’t just symbolize rebirth—they whisper: “Check your ego before it checks you.”

The History: Sacred, Protective, and a Little Bit Toxic

Daffodils (officially known as Narcissus—see what they did there?) have been adored for centuries across cultures.

In places like Wales, they’re a national symbol worn proudly on St. David’s Day as a sign of renewal and national pride.

In traditional medicine, they were used carefully—very carefully—because while they hold healing properties, they’re also toxic if mishandled. Translation: this flower heals… but she has boundaries.

Aren’t we all trying to be that?

The Magic: Manifestation, Protection & Seduction

Energetically, daffodils are tied to the solar plexus chakra—that juicy center of confidence, identity, and personal power.

Working with daffodils can help you:

● Call back your confidence after a long, dark season

● Release illusions (especially the ones you know you’ve been entertaining)

● Attract new beginnings, fresh love, and creative sparks

● Set energetic boundaries while still shining bright

They are a spring awakening spell in flower form. Put them on your altar, your kitchen table, or anywhere you need a reminder that rebirth is messy, magical, and absolutely necessary.

Naughty Mystic Wisdom: Don’t Fall in Love with Potential

Daffodils bloom early. Bold. Hopeful. A little delusional.

Sound familiar?

This is your reminder—not every beautiful thing is meant to be chased endlessly. Not every reflection is truth. And not every beginning is meant to last forever.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t sacred.

So flirt with your rebirth. Romance your growth. And for the love of all things mystical… don’t drown in your own reflection.

Because sometimes the most magical thing you can do… is wake the hell up and bloom anyway
